Robert Stewart has an exceptional ability to improve and optimize value on a project through the application of a detailed logical structured process. This book captures and communicates that process in a carefully researched and relevant mannner that will ring true for those experienced professionals. I highly recommend this book be one of the many "tools" that project professionals use to help guide them on those tough jobs. This book is an in depth, hands-on approach to optimizing performance in the organization through the use of value based principles. It provides measurable means to assess value, while offering valuable communication techniques for instituting performance and management effectiveness across projects, processes, and systems. Not only is this applicable in the project arena, but it is just as valuable in the context of managing a high performance organization. I highly recommend this book.

Engaging and Applicable

I don't remember the last time I read a text book or business improvement guide from cover to cover and was sorry to see it end. Robert Stewart's book was a page-turner. This is a very well written, engaging book that clearly lays out the value methodology in a logical, interesting way. It makes the case for why each step, technique, and tool is important, and it guides the reader through the proper application for success in value optimization. The graphics and examples are extremely relevant and support the text well. All in all, a good read that will surely have a prominent spot in your personal reference library when you're done.
